About me

Inspired by a teacher, my fascination with computers and computer programming started in 1984 with a Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Things got more intense with the 5th national contest “Bundeswettbewerb Informatik” where I met like-minded people during the final round in Stuttgart in 1987.

I studied computer science in Erlangen and started to work at the Bavarian Research Center for Knowledge Based Systems (FORWISS) as a research student doing data mining and expert interviews. Later I joined the machine learning research group at the Daimler Benz IT research center in Ulm. I did the first industrial pilot of the CRISP process model for data mining – to predict customer profiles during the launch of the A class.

In 1998 I joined BMW Group in Munich, where I held several management positions in the sales division, in corporate quality and now in information technology for financial services. Currently I drive test and release methodology for large distributed teams, test automation and the quality of go lives in Europe.

Three years in Beijing/China brought new tastes and perspectives. Not only for me, but also for the rest of the family.

In 2023, I have started to do few and small sideline consultation jobs and I am continuing do build small tech things. On this site I plan to share some links I consider interesting.
